    The first thing to do is to minimise your footprint, i.e. your reliance on electricity. A gas hob is cheap to run. A timer on your geyser will save you a good 150 to 200kw per month. A heat pump will save you even more. We have gone from 900kw a month to 520kw, all of it now covered by solar power.
