@AlphaJohn so was thinking before I head out to get a new multiplug... if there is a surge from the inverter on battery, maybe I want to inverter to die rather than my appliances which cost way more. What's your thoughts on that?
I've had one of these surge multiplugs on the output since day 1 because it was there before the inverter... Should be fine if the inverter is always plugged in though right? Cause then there is always a connection to Earth via the plug socket?
Guess I will just get a new multiplug to be safe...
@AlphaJohn from those feed current monitors you have, can you confirm that the LFPs still pull the full 10Amp at the float voltage when the inverter doesn't switch to bulk charge? I think you may have said this before just can't remember.
If you have the 12V Mecer then go for it, if you have the 24V Mecer its overkill to wire 2 of these in series, because you won't be able to charge them fast enough to make use of 400Ah capacity
Here's a nice shot of the inverter switching straight to float charging after LS, then just about getting through a full charge cycle before LS strikes again. The later took about 12 hours :/
200 Ah in total. Have a spreadsheet to calculate load - Its a bit of a guessing game but I calculate between 150 and 250 Watts during work hours. It can't be more than 360W cause I've never had the 50% load bar appear on the Mecer. I reckon I am discharging to maybe 75% DoD if its full when LS...
Makes sense then why they charge up so quickly then... My wife and I both work from home so the batteries are constantly being loaded. Also have cables running to power our TVs.
