    Wow you were very lucky!! Both mine and my son's took exactly 2 weeks. We applied for his first then mine the day I collected his and both took 2 weeks exactly.

    My friend in SA said she was also able to collect for her parents but I'm guessing this was a few years ago as well. I've Googled some of these passport services and they all say that they can't assist with collection because you need to provide your fingerprints to collect which doesn't make...

    The processing times are so crazy! Some people say they got theirs in a few days, others say a couple of weeks. I suppose it is better than 6-12 months. I am also a dual citizen and I can't remember what happened with my old SA passport when I got my new one - I can't seem to find it haha...

    Mine also took exactly 14 days when I applied in Krugersdorp but my husband won't be able to be away that long :( which is why I am trying to find out if someone can collect it for him. Awesome glad to hear you were able to collect without them taking your old one.
