@newklear followed your steps and asked windows to look for divers automatically and it came back with nothing, having look around the interwebs to see if any one else is having the same issue, also looking for drivers. Kinda got desperate so uninstalled skype as well, made no difference. Thanks...
Yup set it to Auto. Tis a most frustrating issue. Thank you so much again for your help, I really appreciate it! I'll go through those legacy instructions now.
Yep the issue occurred with the anniversary update
- Skype trick didn't work
- Dug through every setting I could find.
- Still trying to figure out how to manually install a legacy driver so thanks for the tip there.
- Checked for tape.
- Will get to the roll back if all else fails!

Really stumped by my laptop's webcam. I'm just getting a black/ blank screen whenever I launch the MS Camera app, Zoom or Skype. The power light comes on but that's it. No picture of me whatsoever.
