The Tools and other D.I.Y bargains thread

yeah I figured as much, I was hopeful though. I've got a 2.5AH battery on it now and it is actually a pretty decent tool but you run out of juice pretty quickly - every 30min or so. I don't really want to invest another 1.5 - 2k into a ryobi system. I would have gone for the bosch, but that one...

The Tools and other D.I.Y bargains thread

Does anyone know if there are any other brand of batteries compatible with the ryobi 1+ tools? I bought a 1+ 18v pole saw and it works well but the battery life is horrendous, I'm wondering if another brand would perhaps have better quality batteries. I'm not a huge ryobi fan so I don't really...

The Battery Thread (Solar / Inverter)

Early hours of the morning with nothing in use. We had been loadshed earlier in the evening but power came back around 7. At that stage I had the inverter set to charge only from solar so it should have been around 60-80% full. Around 5am the inverter alarm went off and the battery was at 8v...

The Battery Thread (Solar / Inverter)

I ended up buying the Hubble s120. One died within a week though and their customer service was absolutely shocking to get a swap out. They didn't hold on to any stock for warranty claims and so didn't have anything to give me. Each day I got a different story and promise of "tomorrow"...

After you paid did they email you to acknowledge receipt or anything like that? I paid yesterday, sent through the proof of payment but I haven't heard anything back from them. I know It's only been a day, but I'm a little concerned. Figured I'd phone tomorrow, but maybe they don't contact you...

Opinions on "drop in" lithium battery replacements

I've converted the old linen closet in my passage to my inverter/ battery home. You can hear it running when you're nearby but it's not excessive in my opinion. The one fan died once and started making a terrible noise but once I fixed that it was back to normal. Probably the equivalent of a...

Out of curiosity, How long do you normally have to wait for shipping? I placed my order and sent through payment today and I've already checked my email 1000x hoping to see a shipment email :p

Opinions on "drop in" lithium battery replacements

Hi, So thanks to all the power cuts my old AGM batteries are finished and barely holding charge. I'm thinking of replacing them with those newish lithium batteries that are sold as drop in replacements. Any opinions on this would be welcomed. I'm looking at either CFE-1280s which are rated at...

Best pool filter and where to buy in Joburg

yeah I noticed that too. I can get the filter body for roughly the same price as the sand filter but then the actual cartridge was about another 1k on top of that and I can't find anywhere that'll give a definitive answer as to how long it'll last.
