many thanks for the quick reply disconnected the RCAs and connected the optical cable from the explora to the AVR - no sound I have a an HDMI cable running from the Explora to my Samsung TV must tell you that I'm a complete novice with electronics- danell

Hi All I'm new on this forum and hope someone will be able to answer the following question:- I have a DSTV Explora which i have connected to my AVR via RCA cables, the question is...can i remove the RCA cables and use an optical cable from the explora to my AVR ? thanks- danell
