OpenServe's website lists "partner deals" at crazy prices like R299 per month from a variety of ISP's. I have contacted two of them and neither have any idea about the deals listed under their name.
It looks the same here, masses of wires now. After OpenServe installed their overhead fibre the old copper distribution box now hangs sideways from the pole. I believe that is how the fault may have happened on our adsl line because the wires at the botton of the box are now exposed to the rain.
I am not happy with openserve's practice where they arrive virtually unannounced to install fibre, without forewarning customers and giving them time to choose their fibre provider. They are blocking competition this way.
I reported a fault on our pots/adsl line which was promptly fixed by a Telkom technician. Then a week later a Telkom contractor made an appointment and came by to install fibre without warning! They said when an adsl fault is reported it is upgraded to fibre. What is strange is there are 3 fibre...
Our 2mbps line went up to nearly 4mbps for a few days then went back to 2mbps and stayed there. Just contacted telkom via webchat portal to ask why it was not being upgraded, they did a port reset and now it's running at 5mbps.
How do you cancel the telephone portion of the telkom line and keep the adsl line only? From what I read here the entire line must be cancelled (tel & adsl) then you sign up for a new adsl line, but that won't be possible in fibre areas where telkom does not allow new adsl sign ups. What is the...
