South African government putting revenue ahead of road safety

Why did the number of fatalities double? Simple. The previously impoverished majority of our population were allowed to join the economically wealthy masses and could suddenly afford cars. In 1998, there were approximately 5.5 million registered vehicles on South Africa's roads. By 2020, this...

Eskom will suspend load-shedding from 22:00 on Saturday until 16:00 on Sunday

Please stop calling it load shedding. Shedding implies a surplus of power. Call it what it is. Power blackouts. Maybe if we all do that it will help create the outrage it deserves.

High-speed fibre prices - Ultimate showdown

They are overbuying not overpaying. I'd say that 95% of subscribers buy more speed than they could possibly need. Who really 'needs' 500Mb/s in a house? I work with very large graphic images, often needing to transfer 10 Gig files. 100Mb/s is plenty for my needs.

How many people will then contract in to get back to the speeds they have come to enjoy, and how many will realise that they...

Synology NAS reviewers needed - You get to keep the device!

I'm a pro sports photographer who archives 250 000 images a year and a NAS is the backbone of my archive operation. www.chrishitchcock.co.za My current NAS is 6 years old and creaking under the strain of old school tech and even older age. (It's also just recovered from a ransomware attack...
