    SHOULD I opt for the Everest, I will not keep it for longer than 5 years in any event, and sell again before it reaches 100k km / whichever comes first. My driving habits are low (8k km per year on average) so if I do go this route, I hope to avoid these types of problems.

    I’m looking at a 3.0 D xDrive (mentioned in the heading) which is more than the 2.0d

    I’m not a fan of the Toyota Fortuner. It’s a very outdated design. The Everest is far more modern and offers more in terms of a cabin perspective. And they are around the same price.

    I also took out an extended motor plan on my current BMW when I bought it at 40k km on the clock. Also won’t do it again for a low mileage vehicle. Glad to hear you haven’t had any issues with your Ford!

    Thank you for sharing, this is very insightful. I will only be keeping either vehicle for a maximum of 5 years. I drive on average around 8k km max per year, which is very low.

    That’s exactly my thinking. I want to go on more adventures which the Everest will allow me to. I’ve only test driven the Everest, never owned a 4x4.

    I like the idea that with the 30d there is that extra power if I need it on those long journeys (which isn’t often) but you also make a very good point. The 20d will be more than enough.
