Simple chainsaw for week-end gardener - Stramm?

I bought a petrol one, (small Ryobi). I go away to the bush from time to time, and I can't always recharge my chainsaw and even when I don't travel I would forget to keep the batteries charged, (or Eskom would give me the finger). So having a petrol chainsaw makes more sense to lazy me. As...

What should I do with my old inverter now that I have solar?

Lead acid. Makes sense. I have am 8Kw and we are currently careful as we are learning how to use it. But yeah, I expect us to make mistakes and trip the system once in a while. Having my "important" devices imune is also another reason I am keen to leave it connected.

Yeah, I have not had any trips yet, but I have been told it happens from time to time with solar as you get used to the system.

What should I do with my old inverter now that I have solar?

Currently, I have a small inverter connected to the mains and powers all my important electricals, (alarm, cameras, gate, router, TV, etc ...), in case of a power failure, it lasts about 2 or 3 hours. Years ago, I spent a lot of time making sure that the wiring was all nice and clean. About...

umm ... yes thanks Not sure if you read my post(s) at all.. I understand it needs to be closed ... Hence why I was asking the opinion of people that have used one of those before and if they can comment on it ... I am sure it can handle some wind, even that model. Also ... as I said ... I am...

Anybody use those cantilever umbrellas? How do they handle the CT wind?

Picture of what the umbrella? I guess it is something like https://www.patiowarehouse.co.za/product/sling-3m-x-3m-hanging-aluminium-umbrella/ But I am not 100% certain what they will go for, hence the reason I am asking people for advice/opinion

Anybody use those cantilever umbrellas? How do they handle the CT wind?

A friend of mine is looking at buying a 3x3 cantilever umbrellas from patio warehouse, (I think). This is a very good quality umbrella ... not exactly cheap ... They stay in Cape Town and as you know Cape Town gets very windy from time to time. Are those umbrellas worth it? Do they handle the...

Cheap way to prevent battery drain?

I am keen to pull the trigger, the ~R700 might sound like a lot, but I think it will help me in the long run to protect my batteries for the 6-9 months I need to save money. I also feel that it is something I could sell to a friend, (as I don't think it works with Lithium batteries). I just...

Cheap way to prevent battery drain?

Yeah, I saw that, but my other worry is that I am out when LS happens a second time. But yeah, it would be the simpler solution short term.

Cheap way to prevent battery drain?

Thanks, that's a good point ... maybe I will try it manually and "disconnect" the battery to simulate the protector cutting the power off and turning the power off. Or maybe I will use my dead batteries, (I still have them), and disconnect just before the Mecer kill it and see if it restarts...

Cheap way to prevent battery drain?

I posted a message a couple of days ago and, one of the issue I had was because my batteries drained below 50%. Until I can afford lithium batteries I need to keep my batteries, (6 to 9 months). My main problem is that my Mecer is pretty dumb and will only cut off at 21VDC, I cannot change...
