    Yes I did read this. I think what I need to do is to test the battery under and without load. I’m very confident that without load it will be fine but let me test. I will then test with a small load and see what output voltage I am getting. Agreed?

    Yes I thought so, but isn’t this how the inverter calculates DOD? (And then sets off the alarm).

    Thanks. If both these batteries are sulphated, would they still show 12.7v several hours later? (After I removed them from the inverter)

    I have a similar issue - two new 100ah gel batteries, tried them both at 12v and 24v (I have two Mecer inverters at 720 and 1440) and they setting off the alarm (with laptop at a VDU only) in less than an hour. Tried another battery with same setup - all fine, getting twice that from 1 battery...

    Hi thanks for this. I have two Mecer inverters, the 720w and 1440w. I have one of each. I am having issues with two 'new' 12v 100ah gel batteries that I bought (cheaply, big mistake, but I have them now) and how long they are lasting. I am running a very low load and even with just my laptop on...
