When Vumatel came to our area, we already had OpenServe in our esate. Vuma made such a mess of the sidewalk (outside the estate) that the trustees didn't allow them into our estate, as they waned to trench, etc. The residents were very unhappy, as at that stage, Vumatel was a lot cheaper that...
Interesting. The way I understand things is that the change to uncapped is not a decision that OpenServe makes - rather your ISP.
Since the lines speeds are all increasing, your ISP may have decided to only offer uncapped/throttled packages, to help them manage their own bulk bandwidth?
If you choose that option, please choose the AGM battery option - takes the price to R10k.
It will be plenty for your setup.
I'd look at this...
It could be either - but the battery is probably damaged already with such a low voltage. If you measure with the mains power on, you should measure a votlage of more that 13 V normally, to show that it is float charging.
Sorry, that link was just to show the disconnect/fuse holder as an example - not the fuse rating. However, IMHO, the external fuse is to protect the battery cables, not the inverter. So as long as the fuse goes before the cable heats up too much, it is fine. If the inverter needs a fuse for its...
2400 VA @ 24V = 100A (add some headroom, unless you always draw a lot less than rated).
I like fuse disconnects...
Awesome, that's great. What charger is that? Do you know what the specs of the charger are?
I see the battery spec says:
"Compatible with most UPS & Inverters using AGM/VRLA charge setting."
AGM batteries normally need a proper 3 stage charger with a relatively high bulk voltage.
Did you ever buy this battery? I use one on my Axpert (and you can set the bulk and float charge voltages). Not sure if the bulk and float voltages of the Mecer Inverter you have are correct? Can they be set? This battery needs a bulk charge voltage of 14.1V.
