Eskom walks back threats against unregistered solar panel users in South Africa

Wanted to ask has anybody been through this process with eThekwini Municipality, how was the process and what changes did they make (replace meters etc), any costs involved. I am still not wanting to register my system as I feel it is a money making action far before it is a safety concerning...

    What's your base load?

I also used to do this with 2 different routers in the house and the phone would cling on (Star Trek) to the one unit even with 1 bar, so would have to force it to move to the other. it works okay if it drops the signal but not if it still can contact the router.

    What's your base load?

I have currently a 14.3Kwh DIY battery, and have almost completed another 14.3Kwh battery so will have almost 23kwh of battery backup so even if I use 1 kwh I will last almost a day and could use more if desperate as this is down to 20% left.

    What's your base load?

So it's 3 units to cover the property 2 in the house and 1 in the granny flat . All media players or TV's are cabled into the network, Xbox is cabled, as well. Also have a Mikrotik in the garage and a Google smart speaker in the garage to play music so need Wi-Fi in there as well.

    What's your base load?

Wife and I, work for same IT company. Every room has a network point or 2, 3 Unifi ceiling access points, Unifi router, fans controlled by a temperature monitor so fans do not run all the time, plus a Hikvision NVR with POE ports.

    Eskom scraps solar registration requirements

Okay, this is still as clear as mud. If you are an Ethekwini electricity customer do I still need to register my system? If so with whom and what do I need. Maybe MyBroadband can do a full article saying who needs to register with whom. When I first read these stories, it seemed like it was only...

Eskom outlines process for registering SSEG systems

This SSEG registration, is it only for Eskom direct customers, or do all "solar system" users have to register. I fall under Ethekwini muni (they can't even supply us with water for 20 to 25 days a month) so do we still have to register with Eskom (not that I will for now)

Nersa recommends retail electricity tariff adjustments be approved

What I want to know is this. If you are not an Eksdom direct customer, do you still have to register your system with them or will we wait for the muni to catch on that this is an easy way to make money and then we will have to register with them.

NAPAfrica hits 4.5 Tbps in traffic

I wonder how this compares to other country's traffic, places like New Zealand and Ozzie and other "larger" African country's.
