Wife with hot water won't help much when pumping water from a remote source, and cables spanned over the 10km distance keeps getting stolen thus losing pumping time:rolleyes:
Stirling engine is very inefficient (I think). But what if the steam or "gas" doesn't then come from water but from something with a lower boiling point? Maybe still use the refrigerant instead of water to drive some type of hydraulic cylinder, since hydraulics are quite efficient (I think).
Only other way I could think of is to use the expanded gas and send it up as well, through a pipe, let it condense into a tank or accumulator and then fall down as a liquid to power a hydro powerstation. But that would also have significant lossses
I think domestically it won't be possible, but maybe industrially? I thought that maybe you could accumulate the heat in a type of boiler, increase the pressure, and use some kind of bladder or piston to hydraulically lift a very heavy object into the air. The object (like a metal weight) will...
Is it possible to use a heatpump to generate electricity? Thus far I haven't really found effective, thermal efficient methods of converting hot water to electricity. Sure one can theoretically use the heat to turn a steam turbine, but those are only 36% thermal efficient. What other ways can...
Haha it's not about the luxury appeal from a brand name... More like a mechanical watch (one that you wind up) is something so cool... It's literally a well-thought-out and engineered machine you put on your wrist..,. 200 little parts working together to do one thing, SHOW THE TIME. It's so cool...
Other dudes probably wear a smart ring underneath their underpants and watch a certain website with "Hub" in it, on their Apple watch to get through their hard time at work... Haha nice to connect everything to the internet
Fitbit can luckily have the wallet as well (with the Charge 5) and it looks like a band. I just hate that apple is restricting third parties so much, as it would be nice to pair my iphone with a nice fitness band. Guess I'll just have to go to android
Hahahaha agreed! But the silent alarms on something like a Fitbit and the notifications do help reduce screentime on a smartphone. It's just with Fitbit and Google now, it doesn't seem like there is something useful in their range anymore as they push people to rather buy a full fledged...
Haha I guess over time the novelty wears off. The Fitbit is my first smart wrist device. I'm Gen Z, thus don't wanna live in the digital realm all the time, wanna enjoy reality a bit more haha. But our generation is hooked to a smartphone and will stay on it all day!
Understood. It's just cool to have something without control electronics, being able to accurately display the time. But agree on the AR glasses being a supplement to the watch. I know this all sounds silly haha but some die hard watchnerds just don't wanna giveup their watches for a wrist...
