Thanks! I am not going to stress about that bit anymore then, sorted! I just had visions of not being able to get insurance and having to take Uber everywhere when I am in SA
Haha, okay seems like a non issue. I think I mainly worried about SA insurers having a fit, but it makes sense to convert it to an UK one while the opportunity exists.
So how would one have both a British and SA driving license? I suppose doing the driving test again? But then for insurance in the UK it's going to suck. Maybe converting it and then re-doing the SA test?
Reason I ask is; my circumstances has changed and it looks like I will have to spend my...
Comparing my last stay in London vs home, I would say grocery prices are fairly similar. Or for the stuff I buy at least. It’s only meat that I felt was still significantly cheaper in SA.
Anyone having issues spending eBuckies at the moment? I am trying to buy something from the iStore, it goes to the eBucks portal, I approve on the app and then it just stays there without any change. It times out after a while and then the order just gets cancelled on iStore. Tried a few times now.

They basically charge an engagement fee to help with due diligence and corporate governance plus a % of the transaction value. They seem confident to always close in 12 - 18 months. Only interested in...
I think 2024 will be my last year in SA, I am making good progress simplifying my affairs, stashing money in Guernsey at the moment. I think the UK will win as destination, but still weighing up my options for the visa. Any one here get in on another type of visa? I looked at the Global Talent...
That is what I did initially, still use the number, but it was borked 3 weeks back when I tried buying another esim for a second phone. They did refund me after about a week of the sim not doing anything.
I get you, but I can’t even begin to imagine how £37k a year gross can be enough, rent alone would be 70% of that. You will have to be a dual income household to get even close to surviving.
