    That sounds like great customer service. Unfortunately, the 208 GTi production stopped in 2015 so the 3 year warranty is already over. I'll have to ask Peugeot how their extended warranties work and if it's possible to buy a warranty at this stage of the car's life.

    I see there are a few Megane RS's on sale within range but the mileage is slightly high, but I'll have a look at them. Thanks for the suggestion. The Polo GTi is around R50k to R60k out of my budget so I can't even consider it, plus it's a high risk vehicle which worries me.

    Yes they are around the R250k mark and up for a low mileage model, so it's out of my price range.

    Thanks for all the advice. The route will be mainly highway driving and the roads are not bad. I see that the 208 GTi prices are much lower than the Fiesta ST even though their brand new prices were quite similar. With French cars, I hear that the second driver is the one that gets the best...

    Okay cool I'll add the Clio RS 200 Cup to my list of cars to test drive. The RS 220 Trophy is like R300k so that's way out of the price range unfortunately. In terms of warranties, do I take it out with the dealership I purchase the car from or directly with Renault?

    This was actually one of my first options I considered, but the lack of a manual gearbox kind of put me off. The fun factor and reliability of auto gearboxes out of warranty further added to my worries.

    Even though I'll very rarely use the back seats, they are too cramped for passengers (which could be my parents and I don't want to put them through that lol). Also, the fuel economy is a bit poor compared to the other options. But it's a great car non the less.

    What would you suggest in that price range? (being between R170k to R220k) I don't want to go higher because I don't plan on financing my vehicle and that's the amount I've saved up.

    I think once this lockdown is over and I test drive both the cars, I will see which one best suits me. I'm a sucker for sensible choices unfortunately lol but I think I'll have a look at them both.

    No I won't be doing that lol I mean I'd enjoy having the power, and I want to experience the hot hatch feeling that everyone talks about. Once I get it, I might get into racing it but that will then only be on the track.
