Takealot has just the worst after sales service, and general policies.
They will either get a wake up and become better, or be plowed under.
The only reason they are still in business, and lets be clear, as a reseller...is their prices and convenience for ordering.

I stopped using Takealot after my GTX1650 died 4months into warranty (pre load shedding), no abuse just glitched on boot.
In those 4 months, the price of the GTX1650 had gone up nearly 3x.
Takealot refused to swop the product out, and, after taking NEARLY TWO MONTHS telling me "we are waiting...
Yes laptops are more resilient as they have essentially a built in UPS via their battery pack.
For your PC woes though, simple solution is to get a surge protector on your main wall plug, but a UPS is better of course, as often even following the schedule they surprise us with a stage change...
Technically I guess all of us are using VOIP on a daily basis as that is how almost all comms work now, cough. But without being pedantic about it...
....the only reason for VOIP these days in it's classic sense, being a PC with a mic (WhatsApp is VOIP!), is conference calls and gaming.
