ISPs reveal which fibre speeds South Africans tend to go for

I was on a 100mb/100mb package with RSA Web, but was forced to pay more for a 150mb/150mb package because Octotel dropped their 100mb/100mb offering. I hardly ever reach 90mb/s download speed but are forced to pay much more for a higher package. I do a speedtest on a daily basis and rate RSA Web...

European Union car safety regulations are messing with South Africans

Agree fully. VW's Polo and Golfs especially. The rear fog light sits too high and is way too bright/blinding. Every car with fog lights has a switch with which to put them on/off, but the owners thinks it looks "cool" to have them on.

Sales of Chinese smartphones exploded in South Africa in 2023

BS! I've had my Xiaomi 2 years now and have received numerous security updates, software updates, firmware updates. Am currently running Hyper OS with Android 14 and am due for Hyper OS 2.0 and Android 15 soon. Xiaomi provides software updates for 3 years, second only to Samsung.

    Amazon.co.za's underwhelming launch

US site has a vast variety of products to choose from. Also, most can be imported for cheaper than what is charged on their local site. Another problem they have is the fact that it has now become common knowledge that Amazon is funding US weapons used to commit the genocide in Palestine.

Vodacom could suffer severe consequences if R29-billion Supreme Court ruling fails

How long has this rubbish been going on for and is it still newsworthy? Please stop this MB!

Fibre industry heavyweights discussed the reasons behind their price hikes and line speed increases

If i am paying more for increased line speed i.e. from 100/100mb/s to 150/150mb/s and i'm still only getting lower speeds than that which i initially had, should i be content with that? Why are they then increasing line speeds and pricing? Is it just another means of capitalist theft?

South Africa's new traffic fine system that introduces demerits is ready to roll out

I have had the privilege of driving in JHB and PTA for 40 years. The lawlessness on the roads there is nothing compared to same in CPT. The DA only complains about applying AARTO, but in fact protects criminality in all it's forms. Infrastructure and services are first class, but lawlessness is...

    Big RSAWeb FTTH outage

RSA Web is the worst. I've been with them for just over a year and they constantly have issues, blaming it on the FNO. Today's issue proves them wrong. I'm saying "good bye" soon.

South Africa wants to confront online retailers allegedly exploiting tariff loopholes

One question, Mr Patel. Who is causing inflation in the first place? Yours and your cadres pockets are already lined!

Shell reportedly preparing to exit South Africa

India is the largest refiner of oil products in the world. I'm sure both countries being part of BRICS+, we can come to some agreement for import of refined fuel at a good price, maybe even slightly cheaper. Only problem is the ANC having more to steal...

FlySafair considering newer tech, including Starlink, to offer in-flight Wi-Fi

And don't forget the wide and comfortable seats - ah, the good old days.. Why then have a "flight mode" setting on your mobile device? To hell with those who can't cope without texting for +/- 2 hrs. Download a movie, series or a few YouTube videos on your tablet/smartphone, grab yourself some...
