Agreed 2x5 in parallel much better than single 8kw. On the price breakdown on article the single 5kw inverter seems a tad pricey. Maybe it went up a lot couple of weeks. But, for less than that price an 8kw could have been easily attained or a little more money for 2x5 parallel rather.
Probably pointed out already numerous times, but for 270k+, I would expect at least 3-4 batteries (15-20kWh total) and a 8kw inverter. Guess there's a lot of factors but feels like system is top heavy on the panel side and under on inverter/battery. Perhaps panels was maxed out for the solar...
So what's the sell rate? The NERSA approve rate of 78.98c/kWh or less? Or will Tshwane add a few cents like Cape Town that added another 25c on top?
I wonder if all these prepaid meters which are forced installed by Tshwane even support export? Daily there are meter contractors in our area...
I recently got a solar system installed and have COC, but I'm a bit confused as to what should be assured where? Panels are fixed to the roof, so feels like building insurance then for fire and lighting, etc? But what about panel theft? I'm sure somewhere someone has gotten panels stripped from...
Sorry stupid questions: Why are the batteries specifically targeted - what's the 'use case'? And why is one of the deterrents to replace lead batteries with lithium-ion batteries? The latter is more expensive, so better black market value?
Regarding TCL, not sure if a mini LED TCL TV will realize soon in South Africa? The C825 is not listed under on TCL SA's website anymore. Couldn't see other mini LEDs either. Perhaps the TCL rep can give more insight on this?
In my experience casting from once phone (while streaming) to the TV just ends up in bad picture quality on the TV. Perhaps there's some casting settings I need to go and fiddle with.
I fully agree the Prime TV app overall (webOS at least) lacks alot of controls. My use case is other way around than Steve's but ot comes from the same root problem - no user controls for quality. For me it auto selects a lower quality (looks like 720p) than what my link (25mpbs) allows and I...
My TV has AV1 dec built in (according to online spec for LG C1). If it gets correctly selected and used every time is another question... To my knowledge this can only be checked in YT - stats for nerds lists the codecs as av01.0.13M.xxxx. But the other native built in apps have limited (or...
I have a 25mbps a Afrihost/openserve fibre package and from my personal experience it seems that normal 4k streaming is usually fine, but if it's 4k with HDR it's a bit too slow. If one then drops down to 1444p HDR it's fine again. To my knowledge most streaming services do not do 1444p, so it...
