    How would I be able to diagnose something like this? I noticed that once the engine is warmed up and I try and start it again, it doesn't spike as high.     Hi oaks I'm a little curious, i've noticed recently that when I start my car after not driving it for a couple of days, the rpm spikes to about 2000 for a second and then immediately drops down to about a thousand and over a few minutes it goes down to 600-800 rpm.
