Telkom Uncapped LTE Deal - My Trials So Far...

Yes, I do...we are going with Afrihost now, on fibre, but we are still saddled with a Telkom final invoice they cannot decide on, and a shade beats called P&P attorneys who seem to think they can sue you over the phone...What would the point be of migrating if your internet disappear in the...

Telkom Uncapped LTE Deal - My Trials So Far...

I must admit I am astonished to read about the upload and download speeds on Telkom's LTD deals. here in Northern Natal Telkom had migrated us from the old copper adsl lines (which provided amazingly fast internet speeds at time, but could be unstable. I received an SMS onde day simply stating...

Telkom - access to ISP telkomsa.net error message

I have been a client of Telkom for over 20 years now, and was recently ordered to migrate from my old adsl copper system to something they called SmartVoice/LTE. My Internet download and upload speeds immediately dropped about 50 % of what they were on adsl. Several calls to their dysfunctional...

At what age do you plan to retire?

Retire....???? What's that...? I am 63 years old, and still work at any job I can find or facilitate. We are all retired mostly police or army veterans who are now professional military history guides here in Northern Natal. You cannot afford to really retire. Here we die with our boots on.

    Suburban apiary, beehives and beekeeping

The town council here certainly could not be bothered by the hives. They are completely ignorant of the culture of beekeeping, and I said to them that the minute they start controlling the herds of cattle and goats roaming the street (which they ignore) I'll do something about my bees (if necessay)

    Suburban apiary, beehives and beekeeping

I think so too....Our Vryheid beekeeper said its definitely the smell, and not so much the noise. When I was working in the front of the garden with a chainsaw, they seemed to ignore it, but then there is always a first time...?

They will always do that. Smell of the grass triggers them. I mow my law in my suit.....my wife still laughs at me...

    Suburban apiary, beehives and beekeeping

I've had two suburban hives for about ten years now. A friend from Vryheid, who works for Agriculture, who is a keen beekeeper with over 200 hives all over the country, had inspired me to start, and I never looked back. I was always a bit sceptic about the flow hive, as it costs a fortune here...

Do you still work from home?

I am (or was) in the tourism business before they hit us with the Covid business, and most certainly work only from home. I am a battlefield guide in Northern Natal, and do all my work from home, or with a tour in the field, when required.

Are you planning to go away over the December holidays?

No. The kids usually come down over the Christmas holidays, and we stay in. Chill at home. It is too damn expensive to do anything else. In Northern Natal you stay at home during the silly season, because you will come back to an empty house. At the current rate of housebreakings and the...
