FNB Card Fraud - New, unused card

Just thought to give an update on the final outcome: The transaction was never banked by Pick 'n Pay, it basically just disappeared from my bank transaction history after a few days. That's it. It took FNB 10 days to investigate. Not sure if delivery by Pnp was done, it is their problem anyway...

FNB Card Fraud - New, unused card

I hear you and agree. From what I have heard before is that the retailer takes the risk in a situation like this where they decide to allow repeat purchases from a "trusted" customer without 3D secure in order to give customers a better experience with faster checkouts, I found that Takealot...

FNB Card Fraud - New, unused card

Ok, so then it must be FNB or VISA then. But how are credit card numbers leaked?????? I agree with you that FNB will have to reverse the transaction on the end, or they will get a moerse fight. This was a local transaction, international transactions are thus not relevant in this case.

FNB Card Fraud - New, unused card

Huh? I phoned them and was more than willing to provide my card details. I understand that they use 3rd party payment solutions. Yet they have no system in place to handle a situation like this. The call center agent told me that they can't do anything to stop the order from being delivered...

Thanks for sharing. From previous experience it seems that the fraud Thanks, interesting. Although I have made a lot of international purchases where it actually does ask for confirmation within the FNB App.

FNB Card Fraud - New, unused card

Both points taken, I failed to mention that the card was obviously immediately cancelled (yes fraud lines are open 24/7), and the fraudulent transaction was reported to FNB and Pick 'n Pay who has no system in place to stop this kind of fraud while there was still ample time to cancel the...

FNB Card Fraud - New, unused card

So someone just bought R4300 from Pick 'n Pay Asap using a a dormant business account of mine. I phoned Pick 'n Pay, they can't stop the order from being delivered. I have never used this specific FNB card, not physically or online, it is 3 moths old and locked away in a safe from day 1, nobody...

Joburg announces meter audit project for estates and complexes

Mmm a Dubai company with a dodgy website, doing totally unnecessary work at the tax payers expense. Non paying customers are your problem! Wonder if the Gupta's are trying to make a comeback here, there is actually a Mr Gupta on their parent company's board. Big tender money flowing here and...

Accepting Bitcoin on a Woocommerce website

Thanks will check it out. The transactions don't have to be in real time as we will only ship the product out once the payment has cleared, similar to receiving an EFT payment. Bitcoins needs to be stored in our own wallet. So in theory someone makes a normal Bitcoin payment using our public...
