Will an old desktop UPS ( lead acid) trickle charger damage my new LiPo4 replacement battery?

That was the original intention and it sorts out at least 1 location where I need power. I have an alt-power DB already installed taking inverter-gen power, but the genny belongs to my business. I’ve read up on Sunsynk, Fronius and a few others. Experiences, recommendations?

Will an old desktop UPS ( lead acid) trickle charger damage my new LiPo4 replacement battery?

Thanks for the help guys. Ok , it wasn’t previously relevant, but the full story is: I have 3 sons, all needing backup power, and a home office and an office. All separate locations. I have 7 x 100A.hr LiPo4 batteries recently purchased, as is the 30A victron. Im deliberating on the inverter...

Will an old desktop UPS ( lead acid) trickle charger damage my new LiPo4 replacement battery?

Thanks for that , Tomototom.not. As long as the design heat rejection from the transformer equals the actual heat rejection, then I guess your apocalyptic certainty isn’t quite as certain. I have run two desktop UPS’s for 3 years and still running, in this way, but each with a 100A.hr lead-acid...

Will an old desktop UPS ( lead acid) trickle charger damage my new LiPo4 replacement battery?

Thanks for all the replies; some are faf. The extended runtime and the corresponding heat rejection needs to be matched to maintain design operating temperature. ( E=mf.Cp.dT air) To clarify, I don’t intend to increase the draw on this UPS ( pc and monitor only) , only extend the runtime. What...

Will an old desktop UPS ( lead acid) trickle charger damage my new LiPo4 replacement battery?

I intend to throw out the 7.2A.hr lead acid battery of my Mecer desktop UPS and replace with a 100A.hr LiPo4 batt, and connect a 30A Li VICTRON charger direct ( therefore in charge-parallel) with the endemic trickle charger. Will this damage my LiPo4 battery?
