EFT payments no longer accepted from Namibia - Alternatives?

I've heard so. Unfortunately the only real impact is adding fees, paper work and delays to legitimate transactions, while illegal transactions will continue. All other countries manage to meet FATF requirements without exchange control, so shoving that in here is clearly not the solution (just a...

EFT payments no longer accepted from Namibia - Alternatives?

Thanks - looks interesting based on initial searching. I guess it will depend how well it's supported for customers in Namibia and merchants in SA, but will research it further.

EFT payments no longer accepted from Namibia - Alternatives?

So the SARB in all its wisdom is blocking EFT payments from CMA regions such as Namibia from April 2024, and all future payments to and from SA in ZAR must be done via SWIFT. I believe there will be a reduced rate of R15 for FNB NA -> ZA payments, but coupled with all the additional steps and...

SARS warning, tax return in 10 days or audit- for a failed business

Just file a zero income tax return for any missing years via eFiling (get an accountant if you're unsure). However, I got this SMS too but I have filed my income tax returns and when checking eFiling there's no issues. So seems it may not be valid for everyone.

    FNB to FNB EFT delays

Odd thing it's happening to customers who have been paying us for years through the same beneficiary without issues.

    FNB to FNB EFT delays

Hi all, Anyone having issues with FNB to FNB EFTs taking a day to clear? It's only impacting higher-value transactions (ie. around R2,000 or more), but most now only clear the following day around 7am rather than immediate. This is impacting our business due to the delays.

    CIPC upgrade mess

So CIPC decided to "upgrade" their website and services, including Bizportal, and after being down for 4 days since last week, the new website is completely broken. Most people can't login, and those that can login, can't actually use any of the services. Tons of placeholders everywhere with...

    Thanks. Will check them out.

Cyber security incident response services in SA?

No sensitive cardholder data. At the moment, it seems there's some kind of data leak, but it's not clear to what extent. Basically there's been some (failed) attempts on the server using user data that should not have been available to anyone (it's too specific to be random attempts). So need to...

Cyber security incident response services in SA?

Thanks. But it seems they're more offering consultation for prevention, rather than specifically offering incident response for when a breach has occurred?

Cyber security incident response services in SA?

Can anyone recommend an (ideally) local company that can assist with a possible breach on a hosted website/server? Basically, identifying if a breach has happened, and if so, how to remedy the problem. Thanks!

Charge my own business rent for home use?

Thanks. Wasn't even aware of that. Will research it more.

Charge my own business rent for home use?

Great, thanks for the feedback. Will investigate the final tax payable as an individual to see if it's worthwhile.

Charge my own business rent for home use?

So I know you can reduce your personal tax by deducting expenses incurred while working from home (based on percentage of square meterage used), however, can you do it another way and just charge your own business rent every month? Obviously you'd have to declare the rental income in your...
