Sold a lemon by a dealership

A very reputable dealership whose average starting price on their cars is probably R500k. Trying to keep their name/details out of it for now because I am very much in the middle of this and I don’t want to give them any fuel to throw at me. Like I said I will say later on.

I’m going to re-write my post you replied to here. don’t have oil leak invoice with me, but 12k battery died in between first major and second major repair. I do regard battery and lightbulb as minor fixes but all the minors are adding up. (I did fix these by myself because I didn’t want to...

The car has been fixed but with a month left on CPA, I’m in a car that I’m waiting to break down. So really isn’t any trust or faith left in it. At the this stage it’s about principle.

Sold a lemon by a dealership

I have usually bought the cars from people I at least sort of know. And these people I’ve generally trusted to have looked after the car while they’ve had it. And there’s paperwork! Unfortunately I was headed overseas during April. But lockdown said otherwise. So needed a car but no friends...

This is the way I do it. Every car I’ve bought has had this sort of paperwork. I’ll sit and go through it, gives you a good impression of the car. Which is why it’s glaringly missing right now. Yip, dealer sat there and said stamps suffice. (5 months later after purchase)

Do you know that SA has been experimenting with geo engineering for quite awhile https://za.boell.org/en/2018/06/05/state-play-geoengineering-south-africa But I think China is on a whole other level

W When I originally picked the car up. I had a look under the bonnet. It was nice and clean from a power wash. I saw and pointed out oil on one of the pipes. Salesman quickly said it was residue from the wash. My bs meter went off at the time. Get home and I have the biggest leak I’ve ever...

No, when compared with same year and model that were for sale at the time, it was actually slightly more (10-15%). I thought it was padded because it would be problem free vehicle which had had a good quality check on it. I am prepared to pay more for quality, which I thought I would get from...

Thanks. Yip while I do hold the Japanese and Koreans cars in good stead, I’ve previously owned trouble free VW and Audi’s, which I think I’ll go back to now
