SA smart plugs that can be flashed with Tasmota

As part of doing the "common" files - I also went ahead and calibrated 5 of mine Connex Connect Plugs. I was a bit surprised how big the difference between the individual plugs were. I also noticed that you had to do the calibration a few times to get the values correct. I use the method...

SA smart plugs that can be flashed with Tasmota

hhhmmm, seems attaching a file didn't work - sorry about that. esphome: name: dell-md1200 friendly_name: Dell-MD1200 bk72xx: board: generic-bk7231t-qfn32-tuya # Enable logging logger: # Enable Home Assistant API api: encryption: key: "<insert your key>" ota: platform: esphome...

SA smart plugs that can be flashed with Tasmota

Power monitoring is working - I have however not calibrated any of mine yet (on my to do list ;-) ) - I suspect some of mine are as much as 10% wrong in the consumption. Otherwise, working just fine. I have attached my template from one of the plugs - you will off course need to add your own...

    Hass and IDS alarm integration

I haven't had any issues, currently using version 1.7.0 beta 4 as I have a GSM connection - so I have disabled polling (ie. Never).

Cape Town testing of cheaper meters going great

Found the following in the latest Requirement for SSEG(*), Section 3 - they talked about Generation Size Limits - essentially 25% of your connection. So when I have a 63 A single phase, it says 3.45 kVA - so does that mean I have to limit the inverter to maximum export 3450 Watt? So, on a good...

Cape Town testing of cheaper meters going great

ok, will have another look because it goes against the “message” the City is pushing with “sell as much as possible” and we will offset it / pay it out………

Cape Town testing of cheaper meters going great

As I’m interested in feed-in - I was wondering where this limitation is mentioned by the City?

Frogfoot response to network outage complaints

A couple of weekends ago - yet another outage - logged call with Cool Ideas and sent an email to Frogfoot. Cool ideas came back that they had received information that Frogfoot was having issues - Frogfoot phoned me back on Monday and even after checking with internal - said - We had NO issues...

SA smart plugs that can be flashed with Tasmota

I have 4 of these (Connex Connect) - all flashed using tuya cloudcutter to ESPHome. Latest version of ESPHome now has native support for the bk7231t chipset.

    Hass and IDS alarm integration

The hawky358 version is working really great for me, Thanks@hawky358. As everything goes via the cloud with the ids64 and the polling is 30 seconds - this might not work for you. Unfortunately, this is how the ids64 is/was designed so there is nothing much that can be done from the HA...

SA smart plugs that can be flashed with Tasmota

Regarding status led - checked the 2nd new one before OTA flash - it also "only" has the same color once connected to wifi/HA. My old plug bought about 1 year ago - has a blue light when connected but is switched off - orange when on. Was like that with stock firmware and the same with ESPHome -...

SA smart plugs that can be flashed with Tasmota

Thanks to @RoganDawes and @swift412 - with the above information I was able to figure out how to flash via OTA my Connex Connect CC-P1003 (https://www.takealot.com/smart-wifi-and-bluetooth-plug-3-pin-sa-round-16a-3360w/PLID73060126). I straight away order 2 more from Takealot - first one has...

SA smart plugs that can be flashed with Tasmota

I looking to try this and has setup a RPi for this. Going through the steps however, I got stuck at New Devices selection in ESPHome - what did you pick for the Connext Connect? Would it be possible for you to share your yaml file perhaps? Thanks in advance

SA smart plugs that can be flashed with Tasmota

I have been using the round Connext Connect Smart WiFi mentioned in the previous post with my Home Assistant - I'm using the stock firmware together with "Local Tuya" https://github.com/rospogrigio/localtuya/. I used the original iPhone Tuya App and then followed the instructions in Local Tuya...

    Hass and IDS alarm integration

Strangely, my GSM module _just_ failed, was replaced just back in September - 1 month after using the integration. Just noticed today that they App is offline again.... The only thing I think off would have to be how the integration queries the server back-end. It seems that the HA integration...
