Upload speed anomaly - phone 5G full speed but ethernet kneecapped

So fellow internet sleuths... it seems this case has been solved. ISP has admitted that there indeed is gimping on my account and they've given me a temp, ungimped account where I can now confirm im getting full speed on desktops too. and here you all were, judging the chinaman for questionable...

Upload speed anomaly - phone 5G full speed but ethernet kneecapped

I mean the internal 5G WIFI network that i'm connecting to using my smartphones ie, the same network the desktop PCs use for their internet. I'm getting served different upload speeds depending on whether I'm on a smartphone vs desktops / laptops, which is strange. I'm getting the full girth on...

    Webafrica's service is shocking

lol everyone piling in on WA? xD i may be the outlier here but I've received good service from them the last year or 2. The only real issue I've had that I couldnt seem to get a definitive answer from them on, was an upload speed issue I've been having with desktop PCs and laptops (weirdly...

Upload speed anomaly - phone 5G full speed but ethernet kneecapped

Gentlemen, if anything this mystery just seems to be deepening xD I've just done a direct connection from the server to the fiber box and all speed tests were positive - i got full download and upload speeds (400/200). I then proceeded to put back the ONT to Chinaman router connection (and the...

Upload speed anomaly - phone 5G full speed but ethernet kneecapped

There are no software bandwidth limitations either enabled in Windows or through QoS options on the router. I should be getting full fat. Already checked these basics to make sure there wasnt some dumb setting that's causing the gimping.

Upload speed anomaly - phone 5G full speed but ethernet kneecapped

Note I get full speed on downloads, which is what makes this so weird. 400Mbps on downloads no problem on both desktop PCs / laptops and smartphones BUT only full speed on uploads when I use smartphones. I get limited to 30Mbps on uploads on PCs for some reason (whether said PCs are using 5G or...

Upload speed anomaly - phone 5G full speed but ethernet kneecapped

1, 2 - unknown until i get some sort of a spec sheet, but the router gives 5G wifi so I would assume it's gigabit on ethernet? 3 - yes

Upload speed anomaly - phone 5G full speed but ethernet kneecapped

Rickster thanks for the testing headsup. With regards to 100 users, those are coming in externally and just connecting to get info. The server itself has a dedicated internet connection and basically that fiber line is for its sole consumption - well, other than the occasional times where I...

Upload speed anomaly - phone 5G full speed but ethernet kneecapped

The nic claims gigabithood, but I dont know if that is only for down and not up. Will dig into these specs more. I cant seem to find any spec sheet related to the router though!!! I've been looking for a while. So sofar, the router is suspect number 1 xD

Upload speed anomaly - phone 5G full speed but ethernet kneecapped

I'm thinking it could be this as well. I just dont want to jump in and buy something and then it ends up not solving the issue. What router would you recommend - i generally prefer the tried and tested.

Upload speed anomaly - phone 5G full speed but ethernet kneecapped

This is a local server. Sympathy? I just want what im paying for, man. How can my phone 5G connection be faster than an ethernet connection and they're both using the same router? xD What i'm using it for is irrelevant.

Upload speed anomaly - phone 5G full speed but ethernet kneecapped

Hello fine gentlemen and internet sleuths! I humbly submit myself to this forum after multiple attempts to resolve an issue that simply has me stumped at the moment. I've recently upgraded to a Webafrica 400/200 line (Frogfoot backend) but I've come across a weird issue where I just cannot get...
