Vaguely recall something during installation about needing to go to different hardware at the exchange if I wanted a 200mbps connection... maybe your connections are a legacy of that old policy? If I'm remembering right.
Either way, there have to be more than 40-odd people on Openserve fiber in...
Took a look around and @PDF_27 in the Cool Ideas thread is having the same issue. Also Openserve Centurion.
I mean, figures that it's not just us guys on Afrihost getting shafted, but man... feels like it's gonna suck for a while til OS get this fixed.
This is on a 100mbps line. Far from a speed upgrade, I seem to have received a severe downgrade.
WhatsApp support is completely ****ing useless. The guy last night caused me to strip my moer and nearly cancel on the spot, and after going through the "troubleshooting" steps apparently wasn't...
Are you ****ing joking, or are you a complete moron?
How many people have been working from home? Our offices were closed through the lockdown. Same story across my field. If I didn't have a line I wouldn't. have. a. ****ing. job.
Luxury my ass.
So I finally got a rep on WhatsApp. They reset my line, which resulted in everything being dead. Switching to Google DNS sorted that, though, and now I have full speed again until the next cockup. Here's hoping it doesn't come.
Well yeah, if others are having the same issue then I'm sure congestion is way down for you. Must be nice.
Edit: just reconnected, but as far as international is concerned I'm now on a 1mb line.
Afrihost, is this some sort of sick joke?
Another edit: Local isn't any better.
If you mean connecting to the router via LAN cable, *that is how I always connect* and it baffles me that you folks always assume it's a wi-fi issue. Got a response from your support guys this morning with "Afrihost's top 5 ways to speed up your wi-fi!" attached. Completely useless to me. Oh...
