Since I'm currently so focussed on astronomy, I totally expected a working model of the Solar System after reading that title. My engineering background and many hours spent on PV did not even save me.
I might also add that "gigawatt factory" is somewhat of an industry term, referring loosely to battery factories that produce more than 1 GWh per year.

Indeed. I was trying to make sense of what "1 GWh / year" means as a unit of power. Maybe a better way of stating it is that it is the flow of electrons leaving the factory floor inside those batteries *if* they are full (and regardless of who filled them up).

SolarMD's flagship product is their 14.3 kWh battery IIRC [disclaimer: I've got one, itsa very nice... and zef, sure]
I recall them assembling around 100 of those a day last year, so "per year" probably meant to say "per day".
That meant 100 x 14.3 kWh x 365 = 521 MWh / year.
