I tried to use it earlier for apex but it dropped the whole connection as soon as i started matchmaking. Exitlag to singapore worked, however there was some intermittent packetloss. I suspect packetloss to jhb was the culprit.
I play apex occasionally, and for the last couple months I've experienced intermittent packetloss to the point where I need to use a vpn just to get a stable connection. Really frustrating.
I've always had a negative view of palit because it is a cheaper product, but based on the reviews of the 30/40 series cards, they seem alright. I might even consider going palit for 50 series if its going to save a couple grand.
I bought a 3080ti last year august and picked up a 4k 144hz screen about a month ago. My card is capable of 60-80 fps on current gen titles at 4k (without RT ofc), but give it a year or two and it will fall short of that. Will be upgrading once 50 series comes around.
I'm not sure if any of you have tried this but, recently i used virtual desktop for pcvr over the internet and the latency was not noticeably worse than being on local wifi, i was thoroughly impressed. For context, i was connecting with a 100mb line at the office to my gigabit line at home and...
I was running a gtx 1080 on 1080p 240hz which was starting to show its age on the triple A games, but could have waited for 40 series.
The 3080ti is over 2x the perf of my old card, but that being said i only paid 4.8k for that 1080. Made a profit selling it because of the current market madness.
I bought a gigabyte rtx 3080ti gaming oc for 25.5k in august which i don't think was a bad deal relatively because the 3080s i was looking at were going for 22-24.5k.
@PBCool There seems to be a weird route switching happening to 196.251.250.203, quake live server in jhb.
