    This is what I don't understand. I, as a salaried person, can do whatever I want within my means. For example, I can do overseas trips without any botheration as everything I earn is accounted for and can be justified very easily via bank statements etc. These people can never do that...

    Message from installer after he noticed I changed settings to 40%. I wonder if it is specifically related to Volta 5.12kWh batteries. In that case, can't be a good thing really. :unsure:

    Done this for now based on all comments. Thanks to everyone. Keeping eskom purchase to minimum was the goal. Basically, the way I get it, this setting will charge from Grid only if SOC drops below 40% - Even with yesterday's changes, power purchased was 0, so hopefully this will be even better.

    thanks. Pay as little to Eskom is priority and should be ok with 40% battery available for extended outage.

    new deye inverter setup and using solarman app and can't see all stats the way they are posted here. Anyone using that inverter & app here? Setup is 8kW Deye, 12 x 545W panels, 5.12kWh x 4 batteries

    This is fairly new setup and while installer was awesome, I am trying to find my feet around the optimal settings.

    sorry,batteries are charged by 12.30pm on a good day. In the morning, it is 60% Soc.
