    Unbelievable. This is up there with the most ridiculous things I've read on this forum. Back to OP, he made it clear his main reason for dismissing her was finding out he was paying her a higher rate. Surely he would have asked the previous owners about her work ethics, her daily rate etc...

    So it only became a problem when you found out you were paying above market rates? It is difficult finding decent workers. Rather pay above market rates for a trusted and known person than pay market rates and not know what you are getting. What would you do if your manager gave you 10 days...
