    VOX Fiber and Asus Router

...or you could just clone the MAC address of the Vox router and use it on your own router. Many routers have this ability built-in and I did that initially with my TP-Link Archer, no issues. To be honest though I don't think it's a Vox restriction but an ONT issue - I think the ONT device is...

Faulty "smart" meters reportedly leave Cape Town residents without water

I watched them do it, they shut off my streets water supply. These meters are not alright as far as the digital component is concerned. Far too many issues and unreliable.

Faulty "smart" meters reportedly leave Cape Town residents without water

My LG OLED 4K Smart TV doesn't compare to my water meter :-)

Faulty "smart" meters reportedly leave Cape Town residents without water

These meters supposedly communicate over a cellular network. They contain a battery that should last up to 5 years however mine only lasted 18 months before it shut itself off leaving me without water. LCD went blank. They also can't just replace the battery onsite and have to remove the entire...

Vox FTTH with Tp-link Archer D7 problem

Vox / Frogfoot - this is the free wifi router I was given by Vox which is more than capable for most people's needs - https://mikrotik.com/product/hap_ac2 I'm using my own router(Archer D7) currently but will switch to the above soon. I'm still busy reconfiguring it to suit my home network...

Vox FTTH with Tp-link Archer D7 problem

There is a lot of complaints about Vox's service but I have never had an issue besides the small one I mentioned above. Sometimes their junior support guys can be a little arrogant but it helps being an IT person and knowing what you're talking about. As far as bandwidth is concerned I have no...

Vox FTTH with Tp-link Archer D7 problem

Well, I'm supposed to be on a 50/25 according to my deal but it is actually 50/50 and has been that way from the get go. I'm certainly not going to complain ;-)

Vox FTTH with Tp-link Archer D7 problem

Great, thanks. I think just the mere fact that I no longer have to deal with Telkom is a huge bonus in itself. I'm on a 50/50 FTTH - coming from a 2Mbit ADSL line which I hung on to for ages(knowing I was getting FTTH) is a huge step up. At the same time I switched to UHD Netflix from DSTV so...

Performance throttling added to iPhone 8 and iPhone X in iOS 12.1 update

Does this feature even work ? My 4+ year old iPhone 6 still shows 100% Maximum Capacity for the battery health. Yes, I do use it constantly. Original battery and does still seem to hold its charge for most of the day, dependant on usage of course.

    Need help cancelling with VOX

I think you will likely need to pay for the installation. The ISP(Vox) pay for the installation of the fibre from the street into your home on the premise that you will be using them. Since you cancelled they need to get that money back somehow. Even though the fibre contractor does the...

What could the problem be with my FTTH ?

Finally managed to get to the bottom of this frustrating problem by contacting Frogfoot - really appreciate their transparency. The issue was with the ONT and MAC address table. Once they had flushed the table I could access the router/Internet again. I'm likely to have the same problem if I...
