Yip, probably worth a shot. However I only have the one still. The first one I cant find.. think I threw it away. Worth mentioning that I replaced the thermostat along with the housing as an assembly, on both occasions.

I find it a bit hard to believe that after 2 new thermostats ( each from different shops ) and it is still that..

Yah I agree, and that I have checked. With the car just at idle everything works just as you described. Inlet pip gets very hot, then followed by a gradual heating of the radiator and bottom outlet pipe. And then eventually all pies and radiator are very hot, and at this time the fan kicks in...

I have replaced the CTS and thermostat twice now. And checked the operation of the fan, which is all OK. If I remove the CTS connector the fan kicks in at FULL speed, which is what it is supposed to do.

I agree. But it does not make sense that there was no issue for the past 12 years and now all of a sudden its an issue. I like to determine the root cause rather than just to apply a quick corrective action. I know it sounds silly. But something must be going wrong somewhere in order for this...

Oh with the restrictors fitted at times the gauge just goes over the middle with the fan running for its life.. Without them the needle is in the middle and the fan has not kicked in.

Well, I was told that these restrictors are fitted in the "purge" lines in order to restrict the flow of coolant so that your engine reach normal operating temperature in very short time. This is what they look like. There are 2 of them. One in the line going from your thermostat housing to the...

Yah sorry for using your 4year old threat.. Was not really sure how this works.. As I said, new to this. Anyway appreciate the quick response. Excuse the long explanation .. Here we go: My Bantam has now stated with this weird overheating problem about 3 months ago. I would not call myself...
