    Openserve 30 up 30 down

Yes like always... loyal long term clients continue to pay the current prices and cannot migrate to this new package. Disapppointing indeed. So the only way to get this, is to cancel your current line and sign up for this new package? Ridiculous.

Just introduce the long awaited DStv Flex and people will sign up in a flash. Or make the offering available to retirement villages (stay packages) available to general public.

    Afrihost, dont bother

I have 100mbps line with Afrihost on Openserve network and I can honestly say I only had great service with my line. I stream YouTube, Netflix, Disney+ etc as well as IPTV and everything works 100%. Streaming qualify is great at full HD and 4K and downloading any files is a breeze. My usage is a...

DStv subscribers get shock Disney+ bill

Glad I got rid of these clowns years ago...still get comeback email offers, sms and even calls, but ignore all. It is way overpriced with repeats - I choose to get my entertainment and sport elsewhere - streaming is the way to go...for far less.

One fibre customer in South Africa consumed 1.4 petabytes of data in the first 11 months of 2023

When I had 40mbps VDSL before fiber, we managed to pull 7TB a month.

One fibre customer in South Africa consumed 1.4 petabytes of data in the first 11 months of 2023

The Top Guy must be sharing with neighbours or downloading the same content over and over again, or running and WISP. We have a 200/200 line and it is really not that hard to use several TB's per month - my household of 11 all has smart devices and streaming content like Youtube, Disney+...

    SA's biggest fibre hogs

Yes and that is without the updates and DLC's

    SA's biggest fibre hogs

It is really easy to chew through a lot a data in a short time. We have 10 people in the house and we all share a 500/200 line. Apart from all the data consumed by the cellphones, laptops, media streaming devices, Netflix is active any given time on 3 screens and one mobile most of the day, the...

How often do you upgrade your phone?

I had my Vodacom contract since 1998 and started with a Nokia 3210 - was epic phone, then upgraded to Nokia 3330, then almost had every nice Nokia brand that came out every 2 years. Later I stuck with a Samsung S8+ for about 4 years, then took a Samsung Note 10+ that is still going strong. Very...

Zoom Fibre launches 15Mbps entry-level service for under R250 per month

Maybe other FNO's can follow suit? Many people on VUMA, Openserve, Frogfoot etc wish they can have a cheap package like that.

    Saying good bye to Afrihost

My condolences... Same happened at my parents house, they had Pure DSL with Afrihost and the copper cables were damaged due to contractors working in the area. No replacement of copper cables, Internet was gone for a good 4 weeks until Openserve contractors installed fiber. We signed up with...

Zoom Fibre launches 15Mbps entry-level service for under R250 per month

Lets hope other FNO's like Vumatel and Frogfoot take notice. They have wide coverage, but not the cheapest prices. At least Openserve doubled speeds that are most welcome. Maybe we will get a nice surprise on Black Friday.
