.... purely a personal anecdote this - company trying to lure me away stated that at the moment of course it will be wfh but when all is normal, they have decided to do a 2 days in and 3 days wfh. I personally think a lot more businesses are or will go that route.
.... Yep, was silly to only...
I find that the non chain places offer significantly more value. There's a pizza place here that serves huuuge burgers .... I'm a big boy and can only manage 1 and that's only 4.50, good value. And I love the weather up here in the north, lol :p
I've been lucky, the friends I have made through another expat friend are all huge meat eaters. At least one bbq going every week when it's possible and they are always heaving under the amount of vleis  Could have been worse and made friends who are vegans, eish!
Unless they're eating filet and lobster daily yeah. Three adults, 2 kids, 2 dogs - 300 pm. And that is eating well with lots of meat per week. I make use of the 3 for 10 pounds meat specials often. Also have take out 2 or 3 times a month, that's never more than 20 pounds.
Nuts what the costs are for anyone without a British passport, jesus. I'm beyond glad they changed me being able to qualify through the mother or I'd be up shyte creek. It's a more real article than others ..... ignoring that stupid rent and 'basic groceries' for 2 being way overboard, lol.
