Vodacom and MTN challenge ICASA's End-User and Subscriber Service Charter Amendment Regulations

The public comment details for that might be useful - my suggestion is that there should only be two types of bundles: Uncapped, time limited (with speed limits allowed) Volume based, with no time limits (And this should apply to all bundles - SMS, call minutes, special data (e.g. streaming)...

GCGSA warning about making on-demand grocery orders on 30 June

That doesn't mean they were illegal.... (Asylum seekers and refugees are allowed to work and don't need employers to prove that there are no locals that can do the work)

Uber is operating without its e-hailing certificate in South Africa

You do not want that infrastructure to exist.... It would get used to block reports of corruption, etc....

People who paid E-tolls will not get a refund: Cabinet

If it is charged under a law, the 30 years apply. (at least how I read that)

People who paid E-tolls will not get a refund: Cabinet

I'm not so sure. The prescription act has this:

Large monitors that don't require a TV licence

Not having "smart" features means no planned obsolescence, attempts to ensure that you see ads every waking moment of your life or constant data collection.

Gautrain launching "Gau Express" e-hailing platform in October

There is a chance that the idea is to ban Uber / Bolt from the stations and force people to use this instead...

Gautrain launching "Gau Express" e-hailing platform in October

On the expansion: Building Modderfontein and Samrand stations should be the first priority - they would be useful even before the new lines are completed.

Using EVs in place of petrol or diesel cars has long offered cost reduction and predictability benefits for business fleets

Plug in hybrids make more sense - the price is often so high since you are paying for enough battery for a 500km range, which is often used a few times a year... A plug in hybrid with 50-100km electric range can spend a 1/5 - 1/10th as much on the battery and drive 95% of the actual driven...

Using EVs in place of petrol or diesel cars has long offered cost reduction and predictability benefits for business fleets

Last month... If we end up with a mostly permanent tripling of fuel prices like in the 70s, probably a lot less...

Uber electric car drivers not allowed to charge at home for their own safety — Fleet operator

I wonder if NERSA approved the rates that the charging operators charge... (or how they reconcile their tariffs with the electricity reseller guidelines otherwise...)

Government rejects "myth" that South Africa is facing a fuel shortage

They US makes enough oil for their own use as well and they also have an increase... Shortages anywhere means that those people are willing to pay more, which then moves the supply there, increasing the prices for everyone...

19.5-year Gautrain concession ends, enters 6-month holdover

On the expansion: Building the planned stations on the existing lines should have happened already - it increases the usefulness and is a lot quicker than building the lines itself.

GPG failed to appoint a new company to take over Gautrain despite having nearly two decades' notice

It is priced cheaper than the perceived cost of taking the car. Peak fare from Hatfield to Park station is R110, off-peak R88, without the weekly / monthly discount. Driving that is 60km. The problem is that if more than one person needs to go, the train is a lot more expensive. The airport...

GPG failed to appoint a new company to take over Gautrain despite having nearly two decades' notice

Taxis on the bus lanes is not such a huge issue.... Building a separate bus system for Gauteng actually doesn't make sense - getting the municipal systems to feed it would make more sense, but there is the issue of "we don't want to share a bus with THOSE people"
