20 random years of stock market returns have been compressed into 60 seconds

That was lucky :) Any other period in history other than the great depression and that wouldn't have worked!

20 random years of stock market returns have been compressed into 60 seconds

A minor update was made. I realised the index didn't include dividends. They've now been added, and it makes a surprisingly large difference to total growth! That means it's also much harder now to beat the index.

20 random years of stock market returns have been compressed into 60 seconds

I think all the highest scores involved the great depression, but generally things just get worse the more I try to beat the index. Anyone find the opposite?

Can you sell high and buy low to beat the index? I made this 60 second game as a quick add on to the US based investor challenge. I think it's fun and quite difficult :)

    Anybody signed up with Tymebank?

I haven't been able to find an answer on this one, but what is the spread on currency conversion for foreign currency transactions? Most banks use a 2.75% spread, Capitec is the exception as they convert at spot rate, anyone know on Tyme?

Colleague looking for a laptop R5500 or less, any recommendations?

As above, she's planning to retire but wants to start some small business I know very little of. It'll be mostly used for email/office/word etc, so it doesn't need to be particularly powerful, but reliability is important. Anyone have any thoughts?

How much do you spend on your monthly grocery bill?

R3000 when I was living alone, now it's probably about R4500 with the SO. I eat low carb, so the meat and cheese seems to be a big portion of that!
