    Showcasing my self-made Plex replacement

Just had a look at Silo, never of heard of it till now interface wise appears to be similar to what I built in parts - which I would say is impressive, as what I built and the arrangement was mostly out of my head, and my ideas.

    Showcasing my self-made Plex replacement

Silo seems great for plex like stuff, however I wanted something which intergrated, my own content, Live TV, as well as music. unsure how silo runs but this an Android App which communicates with various API endpoints on my server last few screenshots here are from my rendered...

    Showcasing my self-made Plex replacement

I wanted to share a backend project I recently finished. Like a lot of people, I finally hit my breaking point with standard media servers. Between Plex’s constant price increases, endless remote buffering issues, and them removing Live TV functionality for South Africa—forcing me to jump...

Exploring opportunities: Distributed video & audio streaming architecture (Cape Town / Remote / JHB)

What started as a lifelong personal interest in media technology and problem-solving in my bedroom naturally evolved into a massive, production-grade undertaking. One thing led to another as I pushed past limits to see what could actually be built. Running my independent IT practice—handling...

Picture quality of this evenings rugby was horrendous....

Anyone else noticed? Lines on the screen - first I thought it was my DStv stream, I tried the decoder same problem. I then used my VPN, and paramount plus - picture quality was marginally better, but still jerky, almost back when one had to adjust the V-hold to stabilise the picture. Am...

Xneelo’s handling of this Johannesburg shared hosting incident is an absolute joke.

This is for a client - not me. If migration is the answer is recommended, and suggested. Then I'll suggest it.

Xneelo’s handling of this Johannesburg shared hosting incident is an absolute joke.

Xneelo’s handling of this ongoing Johannesburg shared hosting disaster is completely indefensible, and it goes way beyond just a single client. They are a massive player hosting businesses all over South Africa, yet they think it's acceptable to run heavy, unmitigated storage and operating...

Xneelo Johannesburg shared email incident: business mail unusable since 1 September

I am an IT Technician - dealing with a client who has exactly the same issue. Emails taking the time to arrive, the web interface is extremely slow & unresponsive. This is a company that deals with corporate customers - how on earth unless this is unplanned do something like this without some...

Gosplit.com - an absolute game changer for cheaper streaming accounts

Hi all. Please note, I am in no way affiliated with gosplit. Thought I would share something. I needed access to a parmount+ US account, I wasn't prepared to pay full price for something I would seldom use. Came across gosplit.com, in which owners share accounts. Managed to get an...

I am shocked just at how buggy DStv stream actually is..

Hi all. I am appearing to run into issues with DStv stream. I have an Android TV box, and the DStv app. when attempting to load a show after the advert (that's another frustration, I pay a premium for premium, and I am still subjected to adverising on the app) the stream either doesn't load...

Do you want a free VPS? - Always free - from Oracle

URGENT!: FYI - I just saw on the Oracle cloud subreddit, that Oracle has halved the free tier requirements for Ampere. It's now 2 cores/12gb ram per account. PAYG will be billed accordingly starting from the 15th, and free tier will have their instances shut down. EDIT: I see it's already...
