South Africans could travel almost triple the distance in an electric car with R100 worth of electricity compared to petrol

There is little or no difference between how Cape town charges for electricity verses Alberton or Johannesburg or Roodepoort. Before you comment check the facts and make objective comparisons.

So does that make you anti solar (anti green energy) because of Hubble batteries. Batteries life span is measured in cycle's , in other words the number of full charges which is around 6000 not year's.

Two things , how often do you change transmission oil and when you say "some have told you" sounds a bit like hearsay besides abuse a petrol engine and it also gives problems.

Hefty fines for unregistered solar users

Mercer is only sold by Voltex. Mercer is not a top brand as far is inverters go. Capetown has a list of approved inverters.

Zuma takes control of MK Party finances after revoking signing powers of bank signatories

You should not be surprised that they are stealing from each other. It would be normal. It's part of their DNA.

Zuma takes control of MK Party finances after revoking signing powers of bank signatories

These comrades are in all probability stealing from themselves by now anyway.

No even there Gupta's can see a lost cause besides they have stolen what they can and there would be no long term benefit for them. The Gupta's were merely being polite when they entertained Zuma recently.

Do you think the US should have attacked Iran?

Same bullshit the US used to invade Iraq and left a broken country behind. They never found any weapons of mass destruction they claimed Iraq had. Now we have all the Trump zombies falling do the same type of bullshit storiy all over again. It's a sad day to see just how many Trump zombies...

Do you think the US should have attacked Iran?

Iran has never had nuclear missile's. Are you feeding from the Trump bullshit.

Do you think the US should have attacked Iran?

There are many Trump zombies that are easily fooled, even here in SA. Most of these Trump zombies won't find Iran on a map.

Eskom ignoring questions about extending the deadline for free solar registrations

The only reason they want you to register is so that they can change your tariff plan and charge you a lot more. JHB for instance takes you off prepaid and puts you postpaid and that costs you nearly a thousand rand extra a month. It's all a scam because they are looking to make up lost revenue.

South Africa has reached an inflexion point where it has become materially cheaper to use grid-tied solar power than just grid power

All the more reason for solar. Paying customers are subsidising all the non paying Eskom customers. I installed solar because of load shedding and upgraded because of the cost of electricity.

South Africa has reached an inflexion point where it has become materially cheaper to use grid-tied solar power than just grid power

It would depend what you are paying for electricity but in your case you may only need a 3kw system but you may have to rethink that if you want to charge a EV

South Africa has reached an inflexion point where it has become materially cheaper to use grid-tied solar power than just grid power

I rinse my panels with a hose pipe two or three times in winter without climbing on the roof. Takes maybe 10 minutes. Last touched my solar batteries 2 years ago when they were installed and will not touch them for at least another 5 years. For every kWh that my system generates R3.93 goes...

No no no no it does not work like that. It's way more complex than just using less coal.
