I believe each link increases the post's "spam" value, and when that hidden value reaches a certain threshold, the post is removed or not allowed to be posted in the first place. It's like a spam filter for email, except it probably does as much bad as it does good. If they weren't cheap buggers...

It's pretty sad since the idea of a forum is to hear all points of view via public discussion and not to hear just the mainstream narrative. They should rename this part of the website simply to "messageboard" since a forum it is not.
Are controversial subjects or views not allowed here or does everyone have a fair and equal say regardless of their views? Will only mainstream or majority views be accepted or are views different from that deliberately quashed by those in power?
