    Isn't your view a bit elitist? I mean to counter it, you'd better make bloody sure that your data on your 990 Pro is backed up 48 months down the line... Plenty of people have used the NV2 for a good deal longer than the warranty period, with the drive still going strong. My wife included.

    To have it credited at a lower value (cost price), and to the retailer's account at that? Not that the distributor will even book it in - you have to be listed, including your ID number, on their account to return things.

    If R 279 is what you paid, R 279 is what you're legally entitled to - the drives haven't been available for ages, so replacement isn't even an option :(
