(Vodacom & the iPad) Where would I find my number?

Hey I bought a prepaid data sim from Vodacom today. I was told I'd receive a number when this thing activated? Where exactly would that message go on an iPad 3G? How long does it normally take? Sorry I'm a newbie to using this stuff.
