Update: It would seem that Afrihost have had a change of heart.
I received a mail this morning stating that Afrihost will not be charging me the cancellation fee under my circumstances.

Yep, Ive had numerous email discussions today with Afrihost support regarding the cancellation fee. They will not budge. Hence my post here.
I really feel like am being shafted in this case. It doesn't sit right with me. I am happy to hear contrarian views if there are any.
Yep, 40meg on the old ISP. Migration was stuck. Well, that is my assumption. Is there fine-print stating that the cancellation fee applies even when you havent received the service you signed up for? I didnt see it. Maybe someone can point me to it?

I don't have a problem paying a cancellation fee if I am paying it for a service I signed up for and got to use.
I had no Pure Internet Joy. Not by a long shot.
The long and short:
1. I signed up for a Afrihost 100 meg uncapped fibre account on 26 Mar 2020.
2. I activated the Afrihost service on 3 April 2020, only to discover with seconds that I was only receiving a 40 meg connection.
3. Thus started my 13 day odyssey with Afrihost support in attempts...
Vodacom had the 500meg "two for the price of one" monthly data which basically halved the cost of the 1gig R149 data, which was great.
Then low and behold, their results stated that revenue from data had decreased by 30% or something (cant remember the exact details) and guess what happened...
