New RU7100 Samsung TV's and Google?

Same here, You can connect the SmartThings cell phone app and Google Home to support the RU7100 but it appears as an ON/OFF Switch Device, this is the same as the old NU7100 without any additional integration, I have both TV's and Google Home, I guess this is what @H8rlequin did as well. I...

Yes it looks like they do stream at 15.56 mbps maximum rate due to the titles being at 30fps and not 60fps

The cheapest 4K TVs you can buy in South Africa

Check what they have online at Makro.co.za and then search for the model numbers on google, google will throw in some other models that markro doesn't stock and there you have it, double check Loot and Takealot for specials on the model you want and you won't go far wrong.

The title is not 60fps the frame rate refers to the codec stored in the container, each title has a .MOV container which contains multiple codecs that the Netflix player can choose from (see the ITU codec list for HEVC) I have seen the behaviour of youtube (when on auto bitrate) and it changes...

What Internet speed you need for watching Netflix in South Africa

If you are going to introduce terms like "enjoy netflix UHD" , then any resolution fits that description Correction >>> I was wrong about the the content on Netflix it is all 30fps and not 60fps content so Netflix will stream their current 4K content on a 20mbps line. If people want to flex...

Fastest ISPs for Netflix in South Africa

I can't think of a worse metric than this one, what I would like to know is how many people are accessing Netflix from South Africa using 4K subscriptions vs HD subscriptions, then I would like the list so that I can sell faster line speeds with a bundled Smart HDR TV set

Xiaomi Mi Box / Mi Box S [Android TV OS]

I rushed into my mi Box 3 Oreo Android TV 8.0 upgrade before I had chance to test it on version 6.0 but it works fine apart from it tends to hang after being left unused which requires a power cycle, and the power cord is too short and too flimsy to last any length of time, don't like the 5.2...

Yes when SIntotec refuse to repair, they will give you a note to take to who you bought it from who then claim a refund from Sinotec as part of their monthly account reconciliation, so Sinotec end up refunding the device to the retail outlet in this case Makro.

OR they can get a 40mbps line and a proper 4K 60MHz HDR TV that is easy to use. Aside from all that what about LOCAL DIMMING, isn't that more important for TV selection

The cheapest 4K TVs you can buy in South Africa

I just got a refund 2 days ago for my old Sinotec 50" with the Netrange portal, I had side loaded a very old version of netflix (the current version will not work on the old Sinotec TV's). I am glad to see the back of Android 4.2.2 KitKat and Netrange portal, the streaming gods have blessed me...

The cheapest 4K TVs you can buy in South Africa

Good point, "Is HDR worth it", the overhead is about 1.5mbps but on YouTube is only included with 60fps codecs making it a premium option that sits on top of the other premium option = using 60fps codecs which means that 2160p on YouTube with HDR uses 29mbps today and 22mbps after AV1 is...

The cheapest 4K TVs you can buy in South Africa

My advice is for the person buying a cheap 4K TV When buying a 4K TV don't buy a 30fps one for streaming 4K, it is not the same thing as a 60fps 4K TV with HDR, but it will work perfectly for a 720p DSTV HD decoder, Dont let technical people confuse you, you want but may not be able to afford...

The cheapest 4K TVs you can buy in South Africa

Lets focus on Netflix Title = "Next Gen" in HDR = 5.53 + Audio + container overhead = 8mbps bitrate requirement - this will work on a 10mbps line at 1080p with full functionality. Title = Ozark in HDR = 15.26mbps +Audio+container overhead = 18mbps bitrate requirement for 2160p - this will not...
