I still maintain that the Jetta A2 (my CLi was a 1986 model) was the best VW ever built. I traded mine in during 1997, along with my wife's 1985 Jetta GLi - on the same day and we got ourselves a demo 997 Citigolf 1.6 each (less than 10K km on the clock).
Stellantis
The parts that Isuzu SA stock on their behalf is quite limited, from my experience. Goldwagen stocks a much wider variety, imho. - especially w.r.t. The Corsa/Chev bakkie.
My 18-year-old SEAT Ibiza begs to differ:
DIY oil change/filters/plugs;
Replaced drop links both sides after they started complaining (DIY);
Tyre replacements (didn't count);
Replaced battery x 2 (DIY)
Replaced suspension bushes (DIY);
Replaced wiper blades F&R x3 (DIY);
Replaced disk brakes...
