I need a new battery charger

I need to prefix this by saying I am not an expert diodes so take this with a pinch of salt... 6A is the output current at +-12v DC (roughly 72w). Depending on how your battery charger is build, the rectification should should happen at 240v which means the current it will see would be in the...

I need a new battery charger

You can't find a 10A full bridge rectifier that's less than R1500? Where are you looking, Incredible Connection? Here's a 25A rectifier for R19. Obviously this might not be the right one for your application but they're cheap as chips (Woolies chips nogal). Head over to communica with the...

9.2 million registered TV Licence holders owe the SABC R44.2 billion

    R44 200 000 000 / 9 200 000 people = R4 804/person. The current cost of a TV licence is R265/year which means the average debtor is 18 years in arrears? Am I doing this right?

    12V POE?

I've just looked at the spec for those cameras. It looks like they run on 48v POE or 12v DC (via a barrel connector). Since the camera only uses 10/100mbps ethernet you could use one of these to get power and data to the camera then you plus the DC connector into the gizzu power bank.

Raru halts orders and blocks access to SAGamer forum

It's normal for Lets Encrypt certs to be valid for only a few months. Generally, they auto renew and you don't even notice it.

South Africa faces a police crisis

"Police minister Bheki Cele says that the South African Police Service (SAPS) can’t meet the country’s policing demands." I'm sure this came as a big shock to everyone. /s

    Moving money offshore

We emigrated recently so hopefully this will be helpful. I opened an offshore account with the Bank of Ireland (they let you open these up to 6 months prior to emigration) and I transferred money into it from my FNB account. You can take up to R1m/year out of the country without needing to...

Andre de Ruyter's car was bugged with a "sophisticated" spying device

It looks like there's an onboard antenna labelled ANT1 which seems to extend under the sticker. The range won't be incredible but it's likely good enough.

Andre de Ruyter's car was bugged with a "sophisticated" spying device

From Google Images - News24 and Timeslive. As the others have said, it looks like a coin cell operated FM transmitter that's based on an STM32 L011G4 micro controller. What's weird is I don't see a microphone on it, unless one was connected to the P2 connectors at the top.
