Correct it has been one their website for a long time.
It’s only a explanation that the technology they use and it’s the same technology apple pay uses but unfortunately fnb still takes way to long to implement Apple Pay. Maybe fnb software engineers are struggling a bit with the api .
Fnb has fallen behind and I’ve opened a nedbank account to use apple pay but have really considered to completely change banks. Fnb is not the best digital bank anymore.
Yes it’s the pay as you use account, i did not opt in for the sms’s because I don’t use them always check inside my app. For my currently it’s the best options to test nedbank and see if they are worth switching to.
I have read more negative comments or discover then nedbank and nedbank with their free account it allows for free card transactions and free R3000 cash deposit I’ll use the nedbank account for my spending money so wil work perfect for me for now I’ll leave my business account at fnb.
FNB is claimed to be the best digital bank in South Africa but i think they just lost their title they are still stuck in yesterday when we did not have apple pay. I love FNB but think it’s time to part ways if they can’t keep up with the time.
Don’t think we should expect Apple pay before May, they keep dragging their feet and probably watching this forum mess around with us giving us temptation with their leaks and then nothing happens
Apple pay page for Mexico is up but no page for South African
https://www.apple.com/mx/apple-pay/
As soon as this link works we know we’re getting apple pay
https://www.apple.com/za/apple-pay/
Think apple is watching this forum and enjoy them self seeing us waiting in anticipation after they through a tantrum because of the leaks.
but at least we know the banks have done their part because discovery did hire for apple pay in December.
Just a thought, maybe apple wants to do a major apple pay rollout on the same day not only in South Africa but major countries in Africa so even though South Africa is ready other African countries part or the rollout is not.
