    Telegram and HA

Ok, I get your point. I use the VPN for more than accessing HA though. When I travel and use public WiFi, I use OpenVPN to secure my Internet traffic from my mobile device to my home, then out to the Internet. I don't like exposing HA to the Internet directly, call me paranoid, but I prefer...

    Telegram and HA

To access a local network safely, you need a DDnS like DuckDNS, anyway. I use either Wireguard or OpenVPN to do that safely. Telegram bots don't need DDnS, or a VPN solution AFAIK LetsEncrypt is just a SSL provider, which has nothing to do with using Telegram bots, which avoids having to run...

    Telegram and HA

I love the fact that with Telegram integrations I don't need to run Wireguard or OpenVPN to query sensors or integrations

    More job cuts at Derivco

The same for me. Helps with problems where the requirements are very constrained

    More job cuts at Derivco

Interesting post. It has increased productivity, most devs I work with embrace it. It will change the industry, just like cloud computing did, which means constantly updating your skillset to keep up to date.

Yes, my experience, working in IT, try and read again, with comprehension this time

Yet, this post is about Derivco, not Duo lingo? Why would I waste time googling this, only to dredge through thousands making the same knee jerk claims you made?

This ^^ The economy isn't great, not in SA, not worldwide. Doesn't mean AI is to blame

Except, that I am in this specific industry and use AI daily. Don't fall for the over-hyped media articles on AI Programming and computer science has more to it than "typing tons". People who work in tech embrace the changes and change with it.

Paradox - Free Remote App Options?

The OP mentions HA, so that means, he already has some skills in setting up HA. The ESP32 part is by far the easiest part of the problem, since the code is all written, you go buy some components and flash the firmware. If you can't solder you can use dupont wires to wire everything up. "free"...

Paradox - Free Remote App Options?

Why pay for an IP module? You can use a ESP32/ESP8266/Raspberry PI, plug into the serial port, then use https://github.com/ParadoxAlarmInterface/pai + Home assistant

Since when? Are you one of the affected people, or guessing? I've worked in IT for more than 2 decades, SA and Europe. Haven't had a single co-worker replaced by AI. We use AI and I don't see any professional developer replaced by AI anytime soon.

Alarm system upgrade recommendation (Ideally with HA integration)

2 things to check: - Did you set your access code (like you would for Babyware?) Default connection password is "0000" but you need to set that through the panel - see: https://www.alarmtec.co.za/paradox-alarm/paradox-software/babyware-p-1519{7}893.html - If your code is '0000' - that doesn't...

Alarm system upgrade recommendation (Ideally with HA integration)

Olarm has a monthly subscription. I also don't want my alarm system exposed to the Internet via any 3rd party system

Alarm system upgrade recommendation (Ideally with HA integration)

Interesting video - I also watched the follow-up. It's a nice board, I've looked at it before I don't think the 433 MHz transceiver is built-in, the board just has ports for you to plug in a module. It will probably be the normal 433 Mhz transceivers you find on Aliexpress, range will probably...
