I bank with FNB, my wife is with Absa - Asked if I could move over to Absa if I could get even more of an interest rate cut, no dice. Because my wife is already banking with them.
For starters, we just went on the property assessment that Absa did to get the building insurance through my own...
Landed on 9.2% for 100% bond with Absa
Betterbond closed off their portion yesterday and submitted everything
Absa called today at 12pm to confirm everything and that they will be sending the request to the attorneys office who will contact us to sign.
Attorney called at 4pm asking for some...
1. That’s the plan, lawyer and transfer, we’ll pay
2. Mind spotting me some money please
3. Is this applicable to a Flexi account (Absa calls it Flexi, where you have access to the money as you pay your bond)
Indeed
Spoke to a few people this morning.
For now, i'm trying to understand why Absa's appointed attorneys are charging 190k for transfer and laywer fees, whereas the others are sitting 30k lower (Private firms)
Regarding the lending rate, it seems we're going to land on 9.2% over 20 years...
Silly question for those who already have their mortgage loans
Once you start paying, have you changed over to a new bank within the first year?
For better rates, and is it common to move that early. Or, would it be bad practice to do so.
Just silly things popping up in my head haha
Seems Absa wants to close the deal asap - Without pushing, they popped an update, new rate, 9.3%
Now it leaves me wondering, do I push Betterbond today and have them pitch the other banks against each other, it feels we might get to 9%
Pretty much
Does it mean that the bank has valued the place for 2.9mil?
If so, does this leave me in a space to ask for 105%, which can help me work in lawyer/transfer fees
Then regarding the FlexiReserve, some ‘lite’ searching on le’google, seems like we want this type of account, in the...
Damn ok, Absa has been running with this, Standard B and Nedbank pulled statements from my account (Got some banking app notifications) earlier today
But Absa has covered the principal offer, and reviewed the house today, with the final offer sent today, they will still cover the 100% bond and...
Waiting on the rest, but i'm not against Absa's initial offer
But we're looking good for Wednesday
Then it's nailing that final down and we're on our way to being first time owners
BB lady just emailed me 20mins ago, first bank is in
Absa
100%

We should see the rest on Wednesday morning, so the deal is on, 10.5% special condition just flew out the window
